Visit of the State Minister at the Ministry of Investment to Garri Free Zone.

Let. General Osama Mukhtar AlNoor, State Minister at the Ministry of Investment, has adopted all the proposals of the Free Zones and pledged to find urgent solutions to the obstacles that hinder its progress in order to contribute to the national economy.
The State Minister declared that during his visit to Garri Free Zone located north of Khartoum, accompanied by Mr. Yusuf Mohammed Karrar, the Director General of the Sudanese Free Zones and Markets Co.SFZ.
The visiting delegation also comprising Engr. Hamdan Khalifa Mukhtar, the General Manager of the Free Zones Directorate and managers of the relevant departments in addition to a number of investors to the free zone.
The State Minister said that we should focus on an attractive investment environment to increase exports and raise economic growth, especially Garri Free Zone is one of the investment opportunities. He promised to hold an urgent meeting with the concerned Ministries, Customs Authority , Sudan Metrology and Standards Corporation SFZ to discuss the policies of the free zones and how to develop them.
Mr. Yusuf Mohammed Karrar, the Director General of the Sudanese Free Zones and Markets Co.SFZ.welcomed the visit of the State Minister, who described it as inspiring, noting that the company is working to solve all the obstacles of the free zones, especially Garri Free Zone and give priority to contribute to the national economy.
State Minister at the Ministry of Investment praised the achievements of the work done by the Sudanese Free Zones and Co.SFZ .
On the other hand , Mr. Mamoun Mohamed Ahmed Garri Free GFZ Zone Manager , gave a presentation on the objectives of the Free Zones, the package of incentives enjoyed by the investors and the contribution of free zones in promoting quality investment. He also reviewed the achievements of the GFZ during the past period. He called for addressing the root causes of the stuck- goods that affect the revenues and banking activity and give priority to add values to the industrial activity in the free zones to go parallel and match with the advantages of COMESA and solve the problem of bank transfers to conduct business in a favorable and conducive atmosphere .
